PLACES OF INTEREST Ohiopyle State ParkOhiopyle State Park encompasses about 20,000 acres of rugged natural beauty. The focal point of the area is the more than 14 miles of the Youghiogheny River Gorge that passes through the heart of the park. The scenery along the river is spectacular. Only a 15 minute drive.Fallingwater Fallingwater is the famous summer home designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935 for Pittsburgh retail mogul Edgar J. Kaufmann. Designed by Wright during the height of his creativity, it is considered an architectural masterpiece so important that it recently joined the Parthenon, Taj Mahal, Pyramids of Giza and China's Great Wall on The Smithsonian's "bucket list" of 28 places in the world people should visit in their lifetime. The Grand Canyon is the only other site in the United States to make The Smithsonian's list. Fallingwater is only a 20 minute drive.The Hagan House at Kentuck KnobThis would be one of the last homes to be completed by Frank Lloyd Wright. At 86, and hard at work on the Guggenheim Museum in New York, Wright said he could "shake it (the Hagan House) out of his sleeve at will" never even setting foot on the site, except for a short visit during the construction phase.
